DESCRIPTION

The Climate Reality Project, a nonprofit organization founded by former Vice President Al Gore, is offering a full-time position for a Data Manager to work with the Information Services team. This position will play an integral role in a fast-paced organization that combines strategic campaigns and cutting-edge communications to win concrete victories on the path to solving the climate crisis.

General Overview: The Data Manager is responsible for managing all incoming data in the various Climate Reality platforms, with the priority to support the volunteer-led chapter program. This position is part of the Information Services team and will work closely with internal end users in ensuring overall data integrity.

Climate Reality has offices in Washington, D.C. and Boulder, Colorado. The location of this position is in the Washington DC office.

Duties and Responsibilities Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Managing all incoming data from automated or manual record creation on multiple platforms such as Salesforce; Salsa; Marketing Cloud; and Drupal Donation Pages and others. Completing data extracts and uploads to platforms that run parallel with Salesforce but that are not integrated with Salesforce. Reviewing data for inconsistencies or anomalies that could skew analytical results and reporting. Maintaining the various databases and conducting routine maintenance as needed to ensure data integrity. Providing individual end user and department access to essential data sets and reports. Streamlining data collection and analysis procedures to ensure fast access to metrics needed for reporting to relevant programmatic teams. Completing data analysis for programmatic teams based on predetermined criteria to identify areas of opportunity and present results/conclusions to stakeholders Communicating with internal end users regarding data changes or requirements. Generating and reviewing documentation for all database changes, enhancements, refinements, etc. Making recommendations for software, hardware and data storage upgrades. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field. 3-5+ years of experience in data management or analysis. Experience with Linux, Java Script, Apex Code, SQL databases, and other related applications. Ability to work with large data sets. Ability to extrapolate conclusions from large data sets. Excellent attention to detail and a passion for accuracy. Flexibility to accommodate irregular and sometimes long work hours.
