DATA & ANALYTICS DIRECTOR: The Nevada State Democratic Party is seeking a senior staff level Data & Analytics Director to work with the organizing team, other senior staff and partners to win elections up and down the ballot for Democrats in November 2018. The Nevada Data & Analytics Director will be responsible for administering the statewide voter file, creating and implementing standards for its use organization-wide, and providing strategic support where needed. This position will report directly to the Coordinated Campaign Director.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Nevada’s VAN, including creation of new 2018 campaign committee using existing information and optimizing for peak effectiveness of organizing team
  • Create and provide daily updates of detailed reports on organizing metrics
  • Develop and train organizing staff on comprehensive set of data standards to ensure information security as well as operational efficiency
  • Provide continuing support to users by setting up troubleshooting standards and systems of communication with other department heads to track and respond to flags
  • Work closely with the GOTV team to research and analyze early voting and absentee statistics, both present and historical
  • Conceive and advise on data enhancement and coordination opportunities
  • Create geospatial reports and indicator maps using GIS tools
  • Coach and manage a small team to maintain consistency and professionalism of statewide data operation in a fast-paced work environment

Required Qualifications:

  • At least one cycle as a Votebuilder or VAN support administrator
  • Basic experience with SQL databases
  • Advanced experience and ability with Excel
  • Advanced experience with Google Sheets
  • At least basic experience with GIS programs
  • Motivation and willingness to work nights and weekends in a high-pressure role
  • Ability to effectively communicate and explain data and analytical concepts to non-technical senior and non-senior staff members
  • Good time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Flexibility and professionalism to handle competing and changing priorities and deadlines
