Everytown for Gun Safety, the largest gun violence prevention advocacy organization in the country, is seeking a Data Contractor to work with our Department of Data, Analytics & Engineering.

Responsible for implementing many data department goals at Everytown, this role will report to the Deputy Director of Data Management. This is an ideal opportunity for a creative and mission-driven data practitioner who wants to expand their skill set and be a part of the gun violence prevention movement.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Administer aspects of Everytown’s suite of field, campaign, and contact tools including, but not limited to: NGP-VAN, EveryAction, Hustle, Hubdialer, and Salesforce. This includes managing user and security settings, providing technical assistance, and monitoring use of the systems to ensure compliance with Everytown data practices;

  • Provide technical and tactical support for our grassroots organizing programs;

  • Manage voter, membership, volunteer, and other person level data;

  • Make recommendations and providing guidance on ways to make programs and/or campaigns more efficient and effective;

  • Provide support, training, and best practices for staff and volunteers on our suite of tools;

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

What We’re Looking For: You are:

  • A skilled data communicator with strong written documentation skills who can effectively communicate technical information to a non-technical audience;

  • Friendly, dependable, and able to work effectively with remote team members;

  • Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable with (perhaps even excited by) rapid change;

  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented;

  • Able to work independently while managing multiple projects.

You have:

  • Experience working on political, issue, or member organizing campaigns, either in data, field or digital;

  • At least one year (or two campaign cycles) of experience as a VAN administrator for a campaign, committee, issue advocacy group, or political party, including creating users, survey questions, and activist codes, and managing committee level structure;

  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills;

  • Experience training people, especially volunteers, on a variety of data skills;

  • Strong attention to detail, including accuracy of data entry.

You are a great candidate for this position if you have the above, plus:

  • Proficiency in writing SQL queries independently;

  • Experience administering Hustle;

  • Experience administering NGP Everyaction tools;

  • At least two years (or four campaign cycles) of experience as a VAN administrator for a campaign, committee, issue advocacy group, or political party, including creating users, survey questions, and activist codes, and managing committee level structure;

  • Experience with integrated data programs (digital organizing and in-person organizing);
