Position Summary

The Assistant Data Analyst supports Analytics and programmatic staff in the collection and clean-up of data for Working America’s analytics operation. This entry-level position includes database queries, processing of large data sets, transformation of data, and other preparation tasks that enables effective data analysis by the organization.
This position is fixed term with an expected end date on or before December 16th, 2022.
Reports to: Director of Research and Analytics
Description of Duties
- Work with the organization to support the identification opportunities for data automation
- Create scripts and workflows to automate repeated data processes
- Build data pipelines for staff use
- Monitoring and tracking surveys
- Gathering and prepping publicly-available data
- Support data-clean up—standardization and organizing large data sets
- Know, or eager to learn, and apply any of the following skills: VAN, Google Sheets, SQL, GIS, Python, and/or R
- Collaborate with organization to prep and make sure that data are organized to allow for analysis
- Have familiarity with utilizing relational databases with SQL
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Skills Needed:
- Enjoys working with datasets and eager to learn
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and able to adapt quickly to meet project needs
- Strong background in, or desire to work in, the labor movement, movements for progressive social change, and political or issue campaigns
- Demonstrated interest in making a career in the labor movement
- Recent graduates—including those from 2-year, 4-year, graduate, and technical schools—encouraged to apply; degrees not required

Starting salary is $46,200. Includes medical insurance and 401(k) with employer contribution.
