What are we looking for?
WorkMoney is looking for a Data Engineer to help upgrade our current environment and allow us to scale. We’re planning significant investments in our web presence and our growth programs in the year ahead and need systems and databases that can grow with them. This role will support the data team in building the foundations for making smart data-informed decisions across platforms. Successful candidates will have experience with AWS, writing and optimizing SQL queries and setting up prod and dev environments for both analytics and data science. We also need someone who can think big and strategically about what tools and platforms are necessary, and which can be automated away. This role will require you to move between in-the weeds requirement gathering/implementation and large scale strategy and design of a data ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate, updated data in a fast, reliable and optimized AWS database for both data analytics and data science projects
- Evaluate tools and products to create the best and most cost-effective environments
- Collect requirements for new data requests
- Identify areas for optimization in existing platforms
- Troubleshoot data issues with various internal and external partners
- Create and maintain documentation and training materials
- Implement production-quality solutions to business problems
