Position Summary
Overview:The Biden For President Campaign is seeking a Data Scientist to develop advanced analytics solutions to support and guide the outreach efforts of the Campaign. This person will combine statistical and programming skills with domain knowledge to create predictive models and other statistical tools and methodologies. The Data Scientist will work collaboratively with other members of the analytics team, along with other campaign departments. We are looking for folks with a variety of backgrounds and experience, and are dedicated to building a team that looks like America.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Create predictive models of voter and supporter behavior.
+ Prepare and analyze datasets to extract meaningful campaign insights.
+ Employ supervised and unsupervised learning techniques, along with other statistical methods, to solve complex optimization problems.
+ Contribute to testing and experimentation design, infrastructure, and implementation.
+ Contribute to broader methodological standards across the analytics team.
+ Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and engineers to produce deliverables.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
+ 2-4+ years of experience applying data and advanced analytics tools in a commercial, political, or non-profit setting, or equivalent academic experience (such as a postgraduate degree in a quantitative field).
+ Fluency in Python or R
+ Familiarity with executing all components of predictive modeling, including data collection and cleaning, model building using regression and other machine learning techniques, and model validation.
+ Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience, both in writing and verbally.
Additional Useful Skills & Qualifications:
+ Experience manipulating data in SQL.
+ Knowledge of experimental design and causal inference.
+ Experience volunteering or working on a political campaign data team, in polling, or with the Voter File
