When you think about elections, you might think about popular candidates, “I voted” stickers, and all sorts of paperwork and deadlines, but behind the scenes are thousands of election officials in state and local governments who are working hard to make sure ballots are counted and voices are heard. At a time when election officials are facing unprecedented challenges and scrutiny, they need support in order to administer secure and inclusive elections and build trust among the public.
As Program Manager on the Strategy, Impact, and Learning Team, you will play a key role in implementing a multi-year strategy to connect and support officials across the country to meet high standards of election administration. You’ll report to an Associate Director in the Government Services department.
Responsibilities

Database Administration – Maintain and expand an Airtable base to organize multiple workstreams for multiple audiences of internal and external stakeholders. Integrate data across other systems and databases.

People Management – Directly supervise Strategy, Impact, and Learning Associates to set and reach goals and to achieve career milestones sustainably. Hire and onboard new associates as needed.

Data Management Leadership – Establish a framework to connect multiple teams’ datasets and ensure their integrity. Provide support and accountability to other teams to manage their data accordingly.
While no applicant will possess every desired quality, the successful candidate will possess many of the following qualifications and personal attributes:

You have created, configured, and maintained relational databases (Airtable preferred), using scripts (JavaScript preferred), automating data workflows, and integrating data with other systems through an integration tool or custom scripts.

You know how to create a framework for connecting and organizing database structures. You use detailed documentation and diagrams to communicate frameworks transparently and comprehensively.

You know how to design a relational database, prioritizing both user experience and data integrity.
