Position Summary

The Kansas Democratic Coordinated Campaign is seeking skilled and experienced Deputy Data Directors to
join our growing team. 2022 will be a critical election year in Kansas, with highly-competitive races up and
down the ballot, including nationally-watched races for Governor and U.S. Congress. The Coordinated
Campaign will build the statewide turnout operation needed to mobilize and persuade voters to support
Kansas Democrats in November 2022. By starting earlier than ever, our aim is to create the most extensive
coordinated campaign in Kansas history.

The Deputy Data Directors will assist with the overall management of the Data Department and will be given
ownership of specific projects that are vital to the Coordinated Campaign’s success. They will support key
programs by generating analytics reports, internal tracking systems, and other essential tools.
The Deputy Data Directors will report to the Data Director.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

● Build analytics reports, internal tracking systems, and other tools to support key programs within the
Coordinated Campaign
● Collaborate with the Data Director in developing and enforcing data standards across all volunteer
recruitment and voter contact programs
● Manage a team of Data Assistants and Data interns
● Assist in the formulation of targeting criteria for volunteer recruitment and voter contact programs
● Support the development of data pipelines, digital integrations, and other critical infrastructure to
support programs across multiple departments
● Vet and draft training materials to aid adoption of proper data practices among staff and volunteers
● Other responsibilities as assigned by the Data Director

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:

● Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
● Understanding of SQL and willingness to learn how to write queries involving multiple types of
datasets; fluency with VAN administration and establishing data standardization practices
● Fluency with VAN administration and establishing data standardization practices
● Familiarity with coding languages and concepts that include – but are not limited to – Python, R and
GIS mapping
● Attention to detail, highly-developed organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate with
stakeholders across all levels of our organization
● Aptitude for balancing multiple projects
● Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
● Desire to receive constructive coaching and grow as a professional
● Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work long, irregular hours

This is a full-time position based in Kansas, and the ability to work remotely will not be available. The salary
for this position is $6,000 – $6,500 per month, commensurate with experience – includes employer-sponsored healthcare. This position’s schedule will vary based on the needs of the campaign, including a high likelihood of evening and weekend work throughout the election cycle. This is a general election position and will last through November 15, 2022.
