Digital Product Manager

Position Summary

About the Role

Sister District seeks to hire a talented Digital Product Manager (DPM). The IM will report to the Director of Operations and will oversee all aspects of the organization’s tech infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Own, support, administer, and troubleshoot all digital products including but not limited to sisterdistrict.com, Action Network, Mobilize, Periscope data analysis dashboards, and Google Suite
  • Acts as intermediary between staff, tech, and development, including project management, requirements gathering, and strategic planning responsibilities
  • Facilitate conversation around company goal based needs, prioritize, and accomplish website enhancements in partnership with development resources.
  • Ensure and implement appropriate cybersecurity measures
  • Monitor all aspects of tech infrastructure—and recommend and implement improvements—as needed
  • Prepare monthly reporting on key metrics for Leadership Team
  • Support departmental budgeting and cost management

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience working in digital product or similar role
  • Experience with WordPress or similar CMS and managing an outside hosting infrastructure
  • An understanding of digital languages and how they work together would be beneficial; no coding experience needed
  • Experience with database administration; familiarity with SQL desired but not required
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in communicating technical concepts with non-technical people
  • Experience in progressive politics desired but not required

Position and Pay

This is a full-time, remote position that can be fulfilled from anywhere in the United States. Pay will commensurate with experience, in the range of $60,000 – $70,000 per year. Sister District is a remote-first organization. We offer a monthly health reimbursement account, monthly phone/internet reimbursement, annual tech stipend, and annual professional development stipend. We have no-meeting Fridays, unlimited PTO, and the office is closed the week of Thanksgiving and the week between Christmas and New Years.

The Organization

Since launching in the wake of the 2016 elections, Sister District has grown to nearly 60,000 volunteers across the country. We have endorsed candidates in 131 races across 17 states, 73 of whom won and have gone on to fight for progressive issues in their state legislatures. We have raised $4.25 million in small-dollar donations directly for our candidates and reached out to 3.5 million voters through phones, texts, postcards, and door knocks.

Sister District has recently expanded our programs to include not only electoral work, but also training newly elected legislators and former candidates, providing a full suite of campaign services to our endorsed candidates, conducting academic-quality civic research, supporting community-based organizations, and working directly with on-campus student organizers.

We are open to volunteers and candidates of all genders, and we are proud to be an organization founded and led by women, including women of color.
