Position Summary
Hiring a Director of Research and Analytics for those interested in social justice for the New York Attorney General – please feel free to apply or share to your networks!
The work and team:
The Office of the Attorney General represents the people of New York State. Our team is like a consulting unit working across almost all bureaus in the office, providing research and data support on legal cases that include suing employers for wage theft, holding opioids manufacturers and distributors accountable for their role in the opioid crisis, going after lenders who illegally charge too much in interest, proving illegal price gouging, enforcing environmental protections, identifying illegal landlord behavior, and testing for racial discrimination in a variety of areas. We hold those in power to account and have great work life balance. It’s a very functional and healthy team, and we work with amazing people, including the AG herself (started her career as the first third party candidate in 30 years to win a NYC city council seat, on the Working Families Party line), our equivalent of the C-level, the attorneys who are our day-to-day clients, and the data scientists/analysts on the team.
The role:
We need someone with a research/data science background and management experience. The role doesn’t code day-to-day but rather manages people and projects. See posting for more details. The team/communication/relationship management and organizational skills are super important.
Salary: $155k
