YOUR OPPORTUNITY
The IT Data Analyst is an exciting opportunity for committed animal advocates that get energized by analyzing and sharing power insights from data. You will analyze data from various internal systems and create impactful reports, dashboards and other visualizations that assist all teams in making informed data driven decisions. You will work with stakeholders at all levels within the organization to ensure data integrity (accuracy, completeness, consistency) by regularly meeting with colleagues to verify and validate the outcomes of your work. With a relentless passion for inquiry and analysis, coupled with a clear vision for how data can transform an organization, you will grow and improve upon the organization’s data systems. This position reports directly to the IT and Data Privacy Manager.
This is a full-time, remote position. This position requires domestic travel, this is equivalent to approximately 2-3 trips per year, plus rare miscellaneous errands that may include buying and shipping computers, monitors, mice, keyboards, peripherals, etc. We are only able to consider applicants who reside in the United States and possess United States work authorization.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Convene, lead and participate regularly in departmental and cross functional meetings to learn the data related goals of your colleagues. Then take those goals, refine them and deliver inspiring reports and visualizations from data.

Use a variety of tools including EveryAction, Metabase, Salesforce, Redshift, and Google Analytics to glean key analytical insights pertaining to organizational activities.

Configure and maintain web analytics tools across all of our digital products and web properties.
-
Collaborate with database administrators and web developers to identify opportunities for process improvements, recommend system modifications, and develop policies for data governance.

Be comfortable with relational databases and be able to query information in the databases and generate customized reports/dashboards that synthesize data.

Lead projects that improve data-related product development, enhancements, and support.
-
Explore our data to develop unique and actionable insights.

Deliver high-quality, high-value data products; working to scale the data function in a cloud-based SaaS systems environment; and ensuring consistency in the organization’s approach to data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Work with your manager to create SMARTIE goals that will optimize our ability to make decisions based on data.

Review and improve our current work request process for new analytical tools and ensure it is efficient and effective at gathering requirements and as automated as possible.

Document and publish policies and procedures related to our data systems and how to request new analytics reports.

Verify that our integrations and APIs transfer data securely and with integrity to the data warehouse and work with our Database Administrator to ensure production data adheres to a clear and strategic data model.

Safeguard trust in our cloud-based data by cleansing and reviewing it regularly.

Review our data sets and proactively provide solutions and insights for teams based on your observations.

Proactively assist leadership with updates to our data strategy.

Create a durable data and analytics product portfolio, ensuring all teams use cutting edge data-centric solutions to enhance their work.

Cross train with other IT staff, as directed by your manager, to provide insights and redundancy within the team.

The ideal candidate will possess most, if not all the following qualities, skills, and characteristics:

Technology: At least 2 years professional experience with data, analytics software, preferably in a remote workplace. The ability to write SQL queries to generate customized reports from different databases. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas and pivot tables.

Salary range $58,035 – $62,853, to commensurate with experience. We do not make offers or negotiate outside of the posted salary range.
