ABOUT THE JOB:

The Political Research Assistant will provide meaningful technical, administrative and research-related support to our seasoned team of political strategists.   In this position, you will learn the key elements of successful survey research/polling, be involved in a variety of exciting electoral races, and have room for professional advancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project coordination
  • Conduct quality control checks on quantitative and qualitative data
  • Gather preliminary data and conduct background research on candidates/campaigns
  • Program surveys (training provided) and test survey programming
  • Proof and input data in memos, charts, graphs and PowerPoint decks
  • Monitor and take notes for client conference calls
  • Monitor and take notes for qualitative research discussions
  • Work on specialized research projects as requested

All positions at Hart Research Associates may be asked to provide support and assistance outside of their core job function.  Executing additional duties as requested is a core requirement of every job.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or Associates Degree + relevant work experience
  • Keen eye for detail and excellent time-management/organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal, writing and communication skills
  • Strong math skills and experience working with data
  • A good listener and thoughtful reader; able to take clear, thorough note
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Able to work weekends/evenings

  • Coursework in computer programming or data analytics
  • Experience working on political race
  • Working knowledge of statistical software packages (R, SPSS)

The employee frequently is required to be in one position for long periods of screen use, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear both in person and over devices.  The employee interacts in close spaces and frequently with other workers, vendors, and clients.  The position works in an office environment with artificial light and air.
