POSITION DESCRIPTION

America Votes is looking to hire two Regional Support Directors, which are new roles designed to further ensure AV partners and state data staff have the data resources and tools they need. The Regional Support Director will act as the liaison between the national data team and state data teams across the country; the role is there to advise and assist state data directors and does not manage them directly. The Regional Support Director will be in charge of training, administering tools, onboarding, and sharing best practices with the America Votes’ state data teams and partner organizations. This position reports to the Data Support Director and is part of the national data team.

LOCATION

The location for this position is flexible. Some travel and reasonable access to an airport is required. America Votes has offices located in DC and CO, FL, GA, MI, MN, NC, NH, NM, NV, OH, PA, and WI. America Votes is currently working remotely; however if you are based in a state with an America Votes office, a hybrid approach may be possible at this time, depending on local guidance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administer voter contact tools, including VAN, BallotReady, dialer and texting tools, and others as needed.
  • Support state data teams with program analysis, planning, and data coordination.
  • Create and implement data standards across states and ensure the sharing of best practices.
  • Develop and conduct trainings for America Votes-provided tools and resources.
  • Work with national America Votes political, program, and states teams to build out data reports to improve efficiency of programs.
  • Respond to national partner support requests and make sure all requests receive a timely response.
  • Create and curate documentation and training materials for a variety of audiences, including America Votes staff and state and national partners.
  • Advocate partner and state staff needs in vendor meetings.
  • Develop both technical and end-user documentation for data and tools processes.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

  • At least one cycle of experience in a mid-to-senior data role, either in state or national
  • Strong communication skills and experience explaining technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience training staff on data tools.
  • Experience working with different direct voter contact tools.
  • SQL, R or Python experience.
  • Interest in emerging technologies and trends, especially in the voter contact space.
  • Creative and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to adapt as tools, products, and programs evolve.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, maturity, tactfulness, and excellent judgment.
  • Organized, reliable and highly attentive to detail.
  • Self-starter and willing to work long irregular ‘campaign-style’ hours and travel as needed.
  • Commitment to progressive values.
  • Spirit of service and a sense of humor.

PREFERRED

  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau
  • Experience as Data Director with campaigns or state party

COMPENSATION

The salary for this position will be between $70,000-$75,000 and depend upon the applicant’s experience. America Votes offers a competitive benefits package covering 90% of employee medical, dental, & vision insurance premiums, life insurance, long term disability coverage, cell phone stipend, personal professional development funds, parental leave, and 401 (K) after six months of continuous service with the organization. America Votes provides a generous paid time off policy with paid vacation, paid sick leave and personal days, at least 10 Federal paid holidays including Juneteenth, as well as paid organizational time off from at least December 25 to January 1.
