Position Summary

Summary: The MDP data program provides support to candidates up and down the ticket. In a state where local races can be won by fewer than 100 votes, the State Voter File Manager provides accurate and timely strategic data support to local candidates running across the state. This role will primarily focus on local and down-ballot statewide candidates, while also providing an important administrative foundation for the Coordinated Campaign. This position is full-time, based in Helena, and will require some travel.

Required Skills, Abilities, and Experience:

● Strong working knowledge of VoteBuilder, preferably in an administrative role

● At least 1 cycle of campaign experience, volunteer or professional, in data or organizing

● Interest in teaching new users and candidates how to use data effectively

● Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot user problems

● Attention to detail and commitment to consistency in data program procedures

● Ability to manage time-sensitive projects and to work long hours in a fast-paced setting

Preferred Skills, Ability, and Experience:

● Professional experience in campaign data or field

● Strengths in data analysis, writing, and interpersonal communication

● Intermediate knowledge of GoogleSheets/Excel; including formulas, functions, and pivot tables

● Experience using SQL and/or Phoenix

Duties and Responsibilities:

● Develop & implement timely, appropriate procedures to ensure data security

● Day-to-day management of users and committees in VAN

● Update voter file with early vote data and external data, as appropriate

● Engage in timely & strategic analysis before, during, and after an Election;

● Provide relevant & timely data trainings for candidates, county committees, and campaign staff

● Tracking and disseminating analysis of voter contact results, voter registration, and other data relevant to campaigns and caucuses
