Position Summary

The Strategic Projects Coordinator is a national headquarter position that supports Working America’s executive team on strategic research and analysis for the purpose of identifying, developing, and evaluating new opportunities for the organization. The Strategic Projects Coordinator works with the Political, Communications, and Data teams to help manage the development, implementation, and oversight of Working America’s clinical research and analytics projects. The Strategic Projects Coordinator also supports the organization’s various project needs including in project management roles.

Reports to:  Director of Research and Analytics

Duties:

  • Work with the Executive Team to lead the organization’s strategic research and analysis aimed at the identification, development, and evaluation of new opportunities;
  • Support and help manage all aspects of Working America’s clinical research activities to include project design and execution, the building of statistical models, test randomization, problem resolution, time and asset management, development of best practices, evaluation, and analysis;
  • Work with political and programmatic teams to develop and implement in-cycle clinical experiments and conduct ongoing analysis with the goal of improving campaign design and execution;
  • Work with programmatic and data staff to design methodologies and approaches to collecting new data and segmenting existing data; identify trends; develop and contextualize insights in quantitative and qualitative data; conduct analyses of both qualitative and quantitative data; and make recommendations based upon the results of analyses;
  • Serve as one of the organization’s expert in the utilization of survey design and implementation tools and software;
  • Serve as the organization’s lead researcher; conceive, write, and edit research products including reports, presentations, issue briefs, fact sheets, talking points, and other educational, advocacy, and marketing materials;
  • Work with outreach staff to identify opportunities to market Working America’s capabilities using data and analytics;
  • Serve as a project manager and support programmatic teams as needed;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in: project management; strategic research and clinical research; and analysis in electoral, issue, and / or labor campaigns;
  • Advanced user knowledge of survey tools and software;
  • Understanding of NGP VAN, Catalist, and other data platforms and tools preferred;
  • Familiarity with the structure and workings of the labor movement and progressive infrastructure;
  • Ability to work independently in politically-sensitive and high-pressure environments and handle confidential information;
  • Excellent problem-solving and relational skills;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to travel on a regular basis as needed;
  • Must be able to work irregular and long hours.
