Position Summary

Job Description

The Vice President of Data and Analytics (VP-DA) will drive the development of Deliver Strategies’ (DS) data-informed culture including ownership of the technical systems and data/technology roadmap for the firm. The VP-DA will be responsible for co-creating this strategy with the partners/leadership of the company. The VP will serve as the key advisor to the company on all targeting decisions for clients and DS representative to the wider progressive political data community. This position does not currently manage staff, but will include tasks related to Vendor/Contractor management and could include cycle-based junior staff (directly or matrixed). The Vice President of Data and Analytics will report to the COO. This work will range from helping staff nail the basics of political targeting and data management to high-level decision-making about how DS uses data and technology. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing targeting and pulling lists from VAN/Catalist/PDI
  • Reviewing targeting and lists from staff
  • Training staff on targeting and basic data hygiene and wrangling
  • Managing data for complex mailings (like voter registration, vote by mail acquisition, or other mail with return vehicles)
  • Analyzing data and creating reports, both internally and for clients
  • Producing or managing ad hoc analytics work (GIS, campaign plan math, election results analysis, mail/creative testing, etc.)
  • Owning a roadmap of data and tech tools
  • Representing Deliver Strategies within the political data community

Qualifications

  • 3+ cycles of data and analytics experience
  • Expert with the VAN and voter files
  • Expert the fundamentals of political targeting
  • Strong experience with Excel and SQL for data wrangling and creating reports
  • Familiar with at least one programming language (slight preference for Python)

Other Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Mix of hard and soft side experience
  • Some background in consulting, or exposure to consulting models as a consumer/clients

Salary Range: $70,000-$100,000 annually

Bonus Range (even-numbered years only): $15,000-$25,000
