Position Summary
The Iowa Democratic Party seeks a Voter Protection Post-Election Data Associate to support the Voter Protection Team’s work to ensure all absentee and provisional ballots are counted.
Our right to vote is fundamental—and when voters are able to have their ballots counted, fairly and accurately, Democrats win. The Voter Protection Post-Election Data Associate’s role is crucial to ensure every vote that is cast in November is counted. This position reports to the Data Director & works closely with the Deputy Voter Protection Director for Post-Election.
Responsibilities include:
- Design and build reports and tools for the Voter Protection Post-Election Team with key programmatic priorities, including absentee ballot tracking and provisional ballot tracking
- Track and categorize absentee ballot and provisional ballot data as it is obtained by the Voter Protection Team and the Iowa Democratic Party and upload the data into VAN with voter contact target universes
- Support other members of the Voter Protection Post-Election Team to complete programs as necessary
Qualifications:
- A technical skill set that includes includes proficiency or expertise in a variety of programming languages/software such as, but not limited to, MS Excel, Google Suite, SQL, Python, QGIS, and R
- One previous cycle of campaign experience and proficiency with VAN
- A track record of prioritizing projects with the ability to be self-directed
- A desire to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and implement creative solutions to unique problems
- A proven capacity to balance multiple deadlines and competing priorities
- Ability to work irregular hours and thrive in high-pressure situations
- Positive attitude and a willingness to do whatever it takes to win
Political organizing experience, legal experience, and relationships in Iowa are preferred but not required.
Salary: $4,500 per month through November 15, and includes a benefits package.
