Position Summary

 

Description

The Washington State Democrat’s Coordinated Campaign is seeking a Deputy Data Director to join our 2024 campaign team. With a contested Senate race, open Governor’s race, multiple targeted congressional races, the Deputy Data Director will be critical to the success of countless races in 2024.

 

This  job is a full-time, campaign cycle position, with an end date of November 30, 2024 and is a part of the collective bargaining agreement. Evening and weekend work will be required, particularly as we get closer to the 2024 General Election.

Requirements

Core Competencies

●  The Deputy Data Director is responsible for facilitating data collection from the field and constituency organizing teams and establishing strong feedback loops to ensure that data maximizes the efficiency of those programs

●  Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to effectively handle multiple requests from different campaigns and local parties

●  Communicating technical concepts to a wide range of audiences

●  A firm understanding of the various data flows in a campaign

●  Ability to develop a reporting structure that highlights key information to decision makers with both technical and non-technical backgrounds

●  Unwavering commitment to winning Democratic majorities at all levels in Washington state, and a demonstrated commitment to the Democratic Party

●  Demonstrated ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a diverse staff, activists, allies, and stakeholders

 

Experience

●  At least one-to two cycles of political experience

●  Expertise with VAN; familiarity with modern campaign tools and techniques

●  Comfort with intermediate SQL or greater

●  Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Looker Studio or Tableau

●  Familiarity with Python or R is a plus but not required

●  Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

●  A desire to dig into new tools and learn unfamiliar systems

●  Comfortable working in metrics and deadline driven environment

 

 

Responsibilities

●  Maintain reporting pipelines across all campaign departments

●  Supervise Data Manager

●  Implement data hygiene best practices, and maintain data integrity within VoteBuilder

●  Support the execution of the voter protection program by assisting a team of volunteers, providing technical assistance, and escalating issues reported through the hotline

●  Help execute the matchback program by uploading publicly available early vote data and answering early voting questions for campaigns, as necessary

●  Motivation and willingness to work nights and weekends when needed

●  Other duties as required

Salary and Benefits

Salary is $6500 per month, with comprehensive health care, vision, and dental coverage; mileage and phone stipend; paid time off, sick leave, bereavement, and paid observed holidays. This position is a part of the Coordinated Campaign’s collective bargaining agreement.
