Position Summary

AWHWA is currently seeking a Data Coaching Manager to provide direct data coaching support and technical assistance to communities participating in the Anchor Community Initiative. They will collaborate closely with the ACI Coaching and Improvement Manager to develop a coaching strategy to “clear the path” for communities to use their data to end youth and young adult homelessness. This position will support communities to learn how to collect, interpret and use quality, real-time data. Our ideal candidate will bring a strong working knowledge of homelessness data systems and possess the ability to use their experience to support communities to develop their own local data capacity.

 

Our team is united in our passion for using data and technology to drive an end to youth and young adult (YYA) homelessness. We believe deeply that data systems and analysis must be able to reflect the dynamic nature of YYA homelessness. The Data Coaching Manager will not only serve as a data expert on the team, they will also be a primary driver for shifting the culture of data to that of one that is rooted in achieving equitable outcomes for young people of color and LGBTQ+ young people.

 

Essential Functions

 

  • Partner with the Data and Evaluation Director to co-design and deploy effective strategies that clear data barriers for Anchor Communities
  • Develop and iterate a foundational data literacy, quality data, and data for improvement curriculum
  • Provide technical assistance and data coaching support to a cohort of communities to help them achieve quality data standards to track and end youth homelessness
  • Collaborate with the Data and Evaluation Director and Anchor Community Initiative Team to develop data infrastructure and performance management tools to monitor progress towards project goals
  • Support work around developing and scaling AWHWA’s custom data tools in communities
  • Assist and coach new communities in the development of their By-Name Lists and local community data infrastructure
  • Partner with the ACI and Communications Team in capturing best practices from high-performing communities
  • Provide input on AWHWA and ACI work plans, ensuring all data coaching is in service of meeting overall goals
  • As a representative of AWHWA, present on learnings, methods and/or outcomes at conferences, workshops, convenings, etc.
  • Ability to travel and provide coaching support in person in Pierce, Walla Walla, Yakima, Spokane, Jefferson/Clallam, Whatcom, Skagit, Thurston and Clark counties.

Qualifications

We will consider exceptional candidates who demonstrate a strong combination of the specific qualifications and skills described below.

  • Belief that preventing and ending youth and young adult homelessness in Washington state is possible;
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and Google Suite products;
  • Experience with Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS) or comparable government databases;
  • Familiarity with youth-serving homelessness systems;
  • Deep analysis of intersectional systems of oppression and ability to support others on their journey to a more liberated practice;
  • Experience with data improvement coaching, public speaking, curriculum development and/or facilitation;
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team;
  • Experience as a change agent of applied equity within community and/or institutional settings;
  • Comfort with systems and macro-level thinking;
  • Emotional intelligence and trauma-informed sensibilities pertaining to professional interactions in a work environment shared by those with lived experience;
  • Experience with data visualization, data analysis, and quantitative measurement preferred, but not required;
  • Familiarity with survey/data collecting tools such as Google Forms, Survey Monkey, JotForm etc. preferred, but not required;
  • Experience applying collective impact, improvement science, user-centered design, or other large-scale problem-solving approaches preferred, but not required;
  • Willingness to learn and stay abreast on issues pertaining to youth & young adult homelessness. Existing knowledge of related issues preferred, but not required.

Compensation and Benefits

 

Location:Work will be primarily performed hybrid/remote and must be based in Washington state.

Compensation: The starting salary range for this position is $87,550 – $113,300/yr. annually, dependent on experience and internal equity within AWHWA. The full salary range possible within the role in the future is $87,550 – $139,050/yr., dependent on experience and performance.
