Position Summary
PICO California is currently seeking a Data Manager to join our team. *This is a full time, permanent California-based position with the ability to start after elections. The Data Manager will oversee and support the overall data management happening across the organization, provide support for our federations around data and be able to tell a story with the data to showcase our work and impact. This position will report to the Director of Data and Research and work in close collaboration with the Director of Communications and Narrative.

Our mission is to catalyze faith-based and spiritually centered people’s power in California to create systemic change for the most vulnerable so that all Californians thrive.

What You’ll Be Doing:
This is an exciting new role, and the goal of this position is to increase our capacities around electoral data and digital outreach strategies. More specifically, the Data Manager will:
- Own and maintain the Political Data Inc. (PDI) voter file and voter engagement data. This includes supporting statewide efforts and coordinated efforts with statewide partners as well as federation-specific voter outreach needs (phone banks/canvassing).
- Support the implementation of a newly built voter file model.
- Ensure statewide networks and local federations have what is needed to improve digital organizing efforts including management of digital tools (Hustle, Impactive, Action Network, New Mode, etc.)
Responsibilities include:
- Work with the Data and Research Director to support all voter engagement data needs required for year-round voter engagement efforts. This will include universe creation, phone bank and canvass creation, and list monitoring.
- Work with PICO California campaign staff to construct and implement a comprehensive digital organizing strategy, and ensure the usage and transfer of data from PDI (voter file) into digital tools and back.
- Work with the Director of Communications and the social media manager to ensure digital organizing efforts are integrated with strategic messaging and social media outreach.
- Train, coach, and manage PICO California state network and local federation staff in year-round digital organizing tactics.
- Partner with the team to utilize and refine the “Devout & Diverse” voter model and support needs from the research partnership.
- Comprehensive post-election campaign analysis and facilitating debriefing and learning opportunities.
- Support ongoing, year-round “Integrated Voter Engagement” efforts hosted by local federations, including training and development of staff, targeting recommendations, and supporting the set-up of the local phone bank, canvassing, and texting campaigns.

- Prior experience in training, teaching, or presentation is preferred.
- Ability to bring analytical thinking and experience to electoral campaign targeting.
- Experience with Voterfile, (Political Data Inc.(PDI) is preferred, however, Voter Activation Network (VAN) experience is also considered.
- Comfort using digital organizing tools such as Hustle, Impactive, NewMode, etc)
- Proven success in the ability to coach and inspire teams across age, gender, race, and socioeconomic experiences.
