Position Summary
OUR STORY
The Movement Cooperative (TMC) seeks proposals for contractors to support our migration from Redshift to BigQuery, specifically with moving over a large number of Periscope dashboard SQL queries, as well as some Python and R dashboard queries, to be operational in our new BigQuery environment. A qualified candidate will have:
- Strong SQL skills
- Familiarity with Python and R
- Familiarity with both Redshift & BigQuery
- Familiarity with Periscope
- Familiarity with git and Github
- Strong project management skills
- Ease of communication via Slack
We are looking for at most 20 hours of work per week during the month of January. The contractor must conduct 50% of work hours during the normal CST work day in order to coordinate with TMC staff.
About TMC
We know movement organizing and advocacy are more urgent than ever and many organizations and activists cannot easily access the tools to scale their work.
Launched in 2018, The Movement Cooperative (TMC) is a nonprofit founded with the aim of creating a cooperative community addressing these structural challenges. Currently, our membership stands at nearly 75 national member organizations, 13 state-based member organizations, and over 800 affiliate member organizations covered under our licenses. We leverage the collective purchasing power of our membership to secure cooperatively held data and technology licenses shared across membership and invest in common infrastructure like technical staff to support our members in their work. TMC is a member cooperative — our board is primarily elected by and made up of representatives from our member organizations.
REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL
The Movement Cooperative is seeking applicants to serve as contractors for this project. The hourly rate will be $75/hr.
